Informal food bank
Give what you can
Take what you need
Voucher-free food bank
Mindful of the effects that soaring prices are having on everybody, we have started an informal food bank at St Mary's. It's a free resource for the local community. There's no need for a voucher and you don't need to register to be eligible - it's there so that anybody struggling to afford food and household basics can take what they need. Equally, if you visit someone in need, please do take a bag of provisions for them. The church is open 24/7 so you can pop in any time without having to let anyone know.
If you're able to give:
We are dependent on donations of non-perishable items, and donations are gratefully received.
Please do give:
Non-perishable items such as cereal, tinned foods, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, tea, coffee, long-life milk and juice, toiletries, washing-up liquid and laundry detergent.
Please don't give:
Perishable or fresh products / anything close to or past its sell-by date.
If you're worried about money:
You can find information about sources of help from the debt charity, Turn2Us.
If you would like to be prayed for about your worries, either write your request in the prayer request book in the church or email stmaryswelshnewton@gmail.com.
